History of Alpha Chi Omega's Philanthropy
The Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity has always been devoted to actively participating in the community and helping others. The national fraternity works to support victims of domestic violence around the country. AXO was the first American women's fraternity to tackle the problems of domestic violence head on. In 1992, it was decided that Gamma Nu would support this cause through a local anonymous organization known as Becky's House. Not only do we work to assist victims and their families, but we also educate our own members extensively about the topic.

In order to raise money for our beneficiary, Becky's House, the Gamma Nu Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega hosts various fundraisers throughout the year. These events include 'Alpha Chi Chella', 'AXO Olympics', and 'Pizza Pies with Alpha Chis', as well as participating in various other fundraising events around campus.
We also put on a 'These Hands Don't Hurt' tabling event on campus that helps us raise awareness for domestic violence within the student body. At this event, we have students tell us what "Love is...." and what it means to them. |
